OK the following is just a piece of my network


Now i want to get laptop 1 & 2 to have wireless, but the messed up thing is that i can't have access to the router. (not mine, for some other admin,basically out of the country :()
Any ideas or peripherals/devices that can be connected somewhere so that a signal can be transmitted ?

neat idea, yeah those are my switches :P
everything on there is mine except the router, but hey can you point me to a good Wireless Access Point device ?
a little problem, i want that device just to send out an Ip so that the laptop can receive it. that's all
anything that can do this ? take the IP from the router and send it to the laptop ?

You can't limit who will pick up the signal. You can however, set the security settings so no one else will be able to "see" you signal or be able to access it.

yeah i know, probably anyone who turns on their laptop first will get the Ip but anyways, can u give me an example of such device ?
