wireless help!

recently out of nowhere my wireless laptop cannot detect any networks in range even though im literally two feet away from my router and i kno there are other networks my laptop picks up usually. i tried restarting my wlan card, reinserting it, i also even reformated my laptop. i have a hp pavillion dv8000 with a broadcom 802.11a/b/g wireless card

any ideas?
 
so the switch on the side is blue correct? if so is all the wires connected correctly to the card that you reinstalled. And last, if you go start>right clikc my comp> manage> device manager> network card does it show the wireless card as working
 
yeap blue light is on and the network card is working fine that i assume... it doesnt really make sense... theres no error mark next to it in the device manager, it mite not be a setting failure cuz i reformated my laptop which brought all settings back to normal
 
If you reformatted you might check the drivers and ensure you have the correct one.. Did you go to hp's site and download the newest drivers? I assume you have access to the internet on another pc as you are on here.. Also you might try downloading and running radarsync its a free program to scan your pc and also to install drivers..(caution though sometimes its not the correct driver use at your own risk)
 
i went to the hp site and talked to the technicians (who didnt help and were very bad) and they made me download new drivers i think reinstalling the bios and broadcom but that didnt help and my wlan card is working fine cept it just doesnt detect any networks i tried unplugging and started the computer and it shows up that its not there anymore and then i plugged it bak in and it shows up my wlan card working properly but it still cannot detect networks

idk if this is good info but wen i ran hp wireless network assistant to let them automatically try to connect online it says that the radio something isnt connected yet the blue light is on
