Wireless internet connection help!

Hi,

I'm setting up a laptop for a friend(put programs on/setting up internet etc) but I've run into a problem!

This is the first time I've setup wireless on a computer so go easy on me! The laptop is a HP and I've got the laptop connecting to the internet but here's the problem:

When I shutdown/reboot the computer it stops working and the wireless connection manager says that windows cannot configure the internet connection. So when I go into wireless properties and turn back on the "Let Windows Configure my connection" it works again.

Why does it keep losing the settings?

I'm using windows XP with SP2

Please let me know if you need to know what antivirus/firewall etc software I'm using

Hope you can help

Many thanks

Joe

Hey,

The router is a BT Wireless Home hub.

I have been looking into it a bit further and now it seems to be ok so I'm not sure what the problem was lol

Anyway thanks for the help

Never mind, had the same prob with a linksys wlan card. As I found out, and the hotline from linksys confirmed, some drivers may conflict with the XP drivers.
Set "Let windows manage...." and that's it. And it's the official support i got from linksys too.

ciao
