Wireless internet connection prob

I wonder if you can help. My wife has a laptop that despite having a wireless adaptor (Belkin) will not connect itself to the internet. Our other main PC by the way is fine at connecting to the Tiscali network.

Re the Laptop it does not matter which room it’s in it’s the same. Bizarrely its also reluctant to connect to the internet even when I connect it physically with a cable to the Siemens Tiscali box .

Yes it has the correct connection code typed in ,so I’m at a loss to understand it’s failure to connect and very frustrated!

We had the same problem with our Alienware laptop. We finally figured out there was a little "wireless" button on the laptop we had to press to sort of "activate" the connection. Do you have any sort of button that looks like it could mean wireless? Ours button had a picture of a tower on it. Once we pressed that key, we were able to activate the connection and it's been fine ever since.

What brand laptop do you have? You could always call the manufacturer for assistance. I would think they'd have some tech support that could help walk you through it, if you are still having problems.
