wireless issue

We have a wireless zyxel modem with security enabled.
I scanned for and connected to our network with my new laptop.
No problems surfing the net fine.

Then I install things like photoshop and office 2007 and sometime after i've done a bit more fiddling the net wont work.

It looks just as it did when it was working, no errors no red bars, but it just gives time out errors.

I tried ping and that returns with just time outs.

I tried doing a system restore to before installing office and photoshop and comodo firewall, as well as uninstalling them manually. No luck.

It works fine with an ethernet cable though which is weird.

I've gone through everything I can think of outside of it being a hardware issue.

Any ideas?

I'm running a Benq A52.

check if you can ping your own card, if it works ..
disable ALL security settings from your modem (mac filtering, wep/wpa)
ping your modem and try to connect. if it works set your security levels as you like.

you may also try the procedure by uninstalled firewall.
