Wireless Keyboard and mouse for Mac?

Laugh at my ignorance if you want, but I'm new to Macs...you guys are very quick about answering questions, so I figured ya'all were the best to ask. Do I have to buy a wireless keyboard/mouse from Apple for my Mac, or will any wireless keyboard and mouse work? Or are there different versions of most keyboards/mice for mac? Thanks!

i would think any keyboard and mouse would work for mac but im not sure.

I've got a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse combo if you'd like to purchse it. I've used it on my Macintosh Mini a few times. The combo works great, you just don't have all the mac keys. Basically, you just can't do all the short cuts...
