Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Not Reading - But Are In Boot?

Hey!

Got my cousins computer to fix and have hit a problem before I even start.

I plugged in my wireless keyboard and mouse to the usb and they work fine when the computer is booting up, but when it hits the welcome screen they don't work?

**UPDATED** - Tried my USB mouse and it lights up on the bottom but nothing happens on the screen.

Any ideas?

You may need to install the drivers, check the manufacturer's website for drivers for your operating system.
 
how do I do that without being able to get on to the computer without the keyboard and mouse working?

its strange that it works fine in the bios etc and menu choices before it boots to the login screen then it stops working
 
just use another mouse or keyboard, try a standard wired mouse or keyboard. You will find that it is most likely a drivers issue.
