Wireless Mouse & Keyboard WTF?

Ive just got a wireless keyboard and mouse, now when I plug the reciver into the computer a windows bubble comes up saying 'found new hardware: usb reciver' but then the add new hardware wizard comes up, and if i search for the software for the reciver it comes up blank and dosen't work. But the funny thing is it works perfectly fine on other windows XP computers, and when I use a Linux live disc in my PC it works then. So what is the problem?

so do the keyboard and mouse work? you should have gotten some drivers for them. try putting in the cd that came with them and see if that works.

you might not even need drivers if they are working ok since win xp has generic drivers for keyboard and mouse.

Well yes the keyboard and mouse work, but when I plug the reciver into the PC windows can't detect any drivers for them, but say on my mum's PC if i plug the reciver in it automatically detects and installs the drivers and stuff so it works. And as I also said its not my PC as if I use a Linux live disc on my PC it works. So its just my Windows XP Pro!

have you tired the drivers one the cd that came with it? if that doesnt work, try downloading them from the manufactures website.

Done and Done, well ive installed all the software on the CD and Logitech's website but its all media center crap and no drivers :(. ive Spent 4 hours on google so far, and replaced half of my system32 folder but still no luck!
