Wireless Network card for desktop gaming?

Hi everyone. Currently, I am running my wireless internet on this USB adapter: http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=179211

Quite frankly, it's horrible for online gaming. I lag about every 50 seconds in every game I play. It really is unbearable. I would like a new network adapter, wireless, using PCI slot, no more USB for me. I have Verizon FiOS High Speed Internet, so I would like something suitable for that. I have Windows Vista if that helps.

I'm pretty sure it's the internet adapter. This internet adapter is pretty bad, I' pretty sure it is only meant for surfing the internet. The router is reasonably close to my system so again, I am sure the adapter is junk:D. Any suggestions?
 
try some port forwarding. make sure no one else on the network is stealing needed bandwidth. make sure no cordless phones are near (2.4ghz)
