Wireless Network/Laptop Help

I hope that someone here might be able to help me with a problem.

I have a dsl internet connection running through a wireless linksys router and I know that everything is good because my tower that I am using now has no problems with the internet...

My laptop has a good connection to my wireless router and I can use Yahoo messenger as well as I tunes , but I am unable to connect to internet explorer or other programs (I play poker on the internet so that is the main one im tryin to fix)

WHen I try to connect to a site it acts like there is a firewall in the way but I have checked my firewall and everything seems to be ok..

Any help would be appreciated

Which firewall are you using? Different firewalls have different settings so even if you may allow it, another part of it is being blocked. One thing you can do to totally make sure is to turn your firewall or exit out of it completely and try to run those programs again. If they work, it's your firewall, if they still don't, it might be something else, such as your router blocking them if you run through one.
