Wireless network shuts down when pinging a server..

Hi,

First post in a forum where i hope somebody can help me.

I installed a wireless network in my house using a linksys router. At first it worked fine but now when i ping a server in counter-strike source suddenly the connection drops and nothing works. To fix this i have to unplug/plug the router.

Is there something I didn't set up well in the router settings, something i must enable?

theres an option called DHCP server enable/disable.

what does that do?

it has all this temporary IP, how many adresses the router can send ( its at 50)
it also put a random static IP

i don't know what that all is

DHCP should be enabled. This allows you to connect a computer to the router and have the router assign it an ip address (that way you don't have to mess with settting an ip for each and every computer you want to connect to the network). The static IP is probably the WAN ip or the ip of the router it's self. The 50 means that the router has permission to give out ip addresses to 50 different computers at any different time. So if you try to connect say 51, one of them won't be able to connect.

you said i wouldn't have to asign an IP for each computer but with DHCP server enabled i still have to go inside the cards properties, insert local IP, DNS etc... for it to work.

Regardless of DHCP been enabled or not i have to insert the settings for each computers.
Do you have a solution for the ping problem?

EDIT: Actually i was wrong. I took off all the settings for the wireless card (Ips, DNS etc...) i put DHCP server enabled and now everything works correctly. Thanx AdmnPower

The static DNS 1,2,3 should be those given by my ISP no?
It put one that corresponds approximatley, just the last number is random

Ok i was to optimistic, forget what i said in the EDIT.

When i enabled DHCP and took off all the settings for each computers i could ping a server in CSS normally but after 5min the connection died
