Wireless Networking Icon

Hi all,

I could sure use some help. I've got two computers and a printer hooked together through a wireless router. Neither one will print, but when I was swapping out ethernet cords, I got a yellow (or is it orange) star (or is it an asterick) over a grayed out bars for the signal. What does this particular icon mean, exactly?

If you could help, it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That means there are wireless networks available where your computer is. Just click it and you can connect to a wireless network.

Okay, that makes sense. But the reason I was asking is because I usually just get green bars that indicate my signal strength. I'll try to get a screenshot.

Sorry this has taken so long. I was preoccupied with a few other problems. Embarrassing question here... how the heck do I post a screenshot from a picutre on my computer? It's asking for a url and this thing doesn't start with an http. So this isn't a screenshot, but it gets the idea across. The icon at the top, that says connections are available is what I've got. I'm used to just having the bars all green showing excellent wireless connection status.

Thanks John; I appreciate the help. My next, logical question would be, why am I seeing this icon instead of the usual green bars? Have any ideas? Thanks again.

Are you connected? It shows that when you're not connected to a network.

Yeah, believe it or not, I'm connected to our network, through a wireless router. When I click the icon, it shows our network and that it has full strength. I'm just a bit confused.
