wireless networking with vista

Hi,

I have both a laptop and a desktop with both machines running vista home premium. Now the desktop has a printer attached to it and I am trying to create a link between the 2 computers so that wireless printing etc can be done from the laptop. Now, no matter what I try I cant get the machines to see each other or indeed find the printer. The desktop works with and prints from the attached usb printer thats it.

I am using a netgear 614v7 wireless router connected via virgin media.

is there anyone here know is having the same problems and knows a way to fix mainly the printing issue.

THanks

Hi friend i don't having any idea about your problem but i also wanna know how to fix this problem..i did not ever worked with vista so thats why i have some doubts over this question..i think networking with vista is similar to the working with xp or other windows?

Scott,
From what I read above you have a router connecting both of these machines. It doesnt really matter if they are wireless or wired, as long as they are connected to the same router. from the desktop(the computer the printer is usb'd into) right click the printer icon from "printers and faxes", and select "Sharing". Enable sharing, and then search for the printer from the laptop using the \\computername or \\computerip
When you get connected it will show the printer, and you can simple click on it to install on the laptop.

If you have any questions let me know.
