Wireless Niewbie...Need help please...

Hello,
I am trying to use my laptop while we travel as I am taking some online courses and need to stay connected. I would also like to use it for directions and stuff while we are traveling in our RV. I have a NetGear wireless card that was installed. But I wasn't able to always gat a signal and when I did get connected, it wasn't for very long. Both RV parks we stayed at had "WiFi". Do I need something to keep the signal strong?? I have also heard that yopu can be wireless using your cell phone. How does that work with the laptop? I know this is a lot of info I am asking...I would appreciate any help.

More than likley when you dropping the signal, you were leaving the WiFi area. As for the cell phone thing you were refering to, wireless companies make cards that you can use in cellular service areas.
 
Ummmm , First you were lucky just picking up a wireless signal or signals while traveling. Then to get ones that are unsecure ? There are a few hot spots ,like coffe houses and some hotels . I would not count on much on the road.
