Wireless not working

I woke up and got on my laptop, went to get some cereal, come back, not connected to my internet. I look at the bottom right where it shows your connection and it showed my wireless isn't even enabled. I press Fn+F2 to enable it and it still didn't show any wireless connections, just a little red "X". I endabled it and disabled it a few times and now it won't work at all. It doesn't even pop up the little animation. All of the other Fn shortcuts work besides wireless. My laptop is an Asus UL50VT btw. I tried to reinstall ATK Hotkey, ATKOSD2, Wireless Console 3 and none of that helped. What can I do?

Also on my programs list is something called Atheros Communications Inc.(R) AR81 Family Gigabit/Fast Ethernet Driver. I would try to reinstall that but I don't see it on the list when I put in my drivers disc.

Try reinstalling your Wireless driver then reboot your PC and go from there. If this dose not work then please go into Device Manager and see if you can enable your wireless card if its still showing disabled after you reinstall your driver for wireless card. This should do the job if not then your going to have to look further maybe an OS reload will fix the problem.

Okay I just did a system recovery and wireless still won't enable. I did the exact same thing I did when I had to system restore 3 weeks ago and everything was working fine. Is it possible the wireless card is broken?

Also, my ethernet port stopped working as well, before the system restore I just did.

The past 2 days I've just been using my ethernet cord to get online and when I'm done I just put my laptop to sleep by shutting the lid. I just opened the lid and without me do anything it said "Installing driver...driver isntalled...restart required" and now wireless finally enabled. I didn't even do anything but wake it up. Weird as hell.

And as I typed that it shut off by itself again but it let me turn it back on.
