wireless not working

Hi every body,

i bought this laptop a few days ago and it has wireless but the problem is it doesnt seem to work.

so i press the wireless button on my laptop and it comes on for a brief second and then goes.

any reason for this and i cant get any signal at all and no networks can be found when im in places like starbucks and places that have wi-fi.

any ideas?

starbucks you have to use the t-mobile hotspot (only some laptops have it). It also costs money

thats maybes why but it still isnt working. ive been able to connec to the wireless modem that i have and apprently i cannot access the DNS server,

why could this be?
