Hi guys,i've been wanting to ask about this issue i have with wireless in my Sony vaio Pentium M, with WinXp and Linux mint installed on dual boot, it happens with any Linux Distro.
The wireless on Xp works fine, but on Linux wireless only works if i disable secure WEP in the Router,

Change to WPA if you can. Did you type in the entire hex key instead of the passphrase?

Hi beers is this better?

Hi beers,i was able to get full Wireless going just by changing #'s to lower #'s and disable Mac,now all the computers that use wireless are working good and with stronger signal,with me things get right when i least expect it.
thanks

Reset the router again. Go into wireless security and see what the security is set at. Set it to wpa2 or wpa2 personal. Enter a password. Since this is a comcast modem/router then usually it already comes with a network name and security setup. Should be a label on the router itself with this information.

Thanks John i'm not trying to Config the ComCast Tg862 aris cause these old computers with Linux wont work in wireless,that's why i had to connect one of my routers but this old Toshiba WRC 1000 only offers WEP and that's enough if i can config, i had it ok,but i reset it to factory to config again and now i 'm trying to config it again with wep .

How do i config :

802.1x (Used)Not Used}

Wep Key (disable) (Enable)

Mac Adress Control( Enable0 Or( Desable)

For wireless its just a matter of enabling the wireless, set up security and enter the security key. So you have that router plugged into the comcast router? Lan port to lan port? dhcp disabled on 2nd router? Internal IP address of second router setup corretly?
