wireless or wired?

i have a linksys wireless adapter but one day i turned on my computer clicked on the icon to bring up the wireless control panel and the hourglass comes up for a second then goes away (i am using a pci g adapter) and nothing pops up. I am supposed to has internet ready ports all over my house but whenever i plug in an Ethernet cable the phones shut down. I tried downloading the wireless adapter driver from linksys.com on my other computer but when i tryed to unzip it said that there was a read error. Any help?

this may not be the correct way around it but it has worked for me in the past. Do a system restore to a date before you had the issues
