Wireless Printer Help!!

Hello forum members,

I am having an issue with a printer I bought today, Brother 7860DW. I've been trying to configure this on the wireless network, but have not been successful. I have already installed it on a wired Ethernet connection, but I want to get it on the wireless network so that I can move it around to my liking.

The funny thing is, the printer itself notices the router, SSID, and can connect to the network, but my computer's (actually none of my 5 computers on the network all running Windows 7) Brother drivers installation software can't recognize my printer.

I've been into my router settings and opened up UDP 54925, UDP 54926, and UDP 173. I also turned off all personal firewalls (McAfee Antivirus Plus), anti-viruses, etc, and it still isn't working. I've been wrestling with this issue for the past three hours... Please help me!

Try this:

Assign the printer a static IP from a wired connection. Then open a web browser and navigate to the IP of the printer. In the settings you might be able to set up the wireless directly from the printer settings menu.

Connect the printer using usb first. But only after the install cd tells you, but make sure you tell the install that you want to install it wirelessly. The usb cable will transfer the network settings to the printer.
