Wireless printing

I want to be able to connect my Canon MX700 printer via ethernet cable to my Linksys Router - WRT54G2, with the ultimate goal of having only the printer and router on, and able to print wirelessly from my iPad, MacBook and/or iPhone. Is this possible, and if so, how?

Use the printer install cd to install the printer. It should say to use usb first to get network settings and then at the end of the install it should tell you to unplug usb and plug in the ethernet cable. All installs are different but just follow the instructions.

Stuck on Wireless Printing setup

I’ve gotten to the point that the printer LAN has the following details:
IP address: 192.168.1.114
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
MAC address: 00:00:85:C6:3E:06
MAC address filtering: Off
IP address filtering: Off

The IP Configuration for the router’s Network Connection has the following setting:
Physical address: 00-16-76-C2-18-4E
DHCP enable: Yes
Autoconfiguration enable: Yes
IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server: 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers: 192.168.1.1

I’ve setup the printer driver on the MacBook OS X ver. 10.5.8; the General settings for the printer are:
Name: 192.168.1.114
Location:
Queue name: _192_168_1_114
Host name: localhost
Driver version: 10.67.1.0
URL: lpd://192.168.1.114/

The most I’m getting out of the printer from the MacBook are test pages, from the printer’s utility and nothing else.

I’m lost as far as what to do next, I’ve looked on line and nothing seems to help. ANY SUGGESTION OR DIRECTIONS?

Thanks for the reply.

The install software should automatically set it up for you. There should be no manual setup.

Printer is fine on network- it has what looks like a valid IP, if you mean you can't print anything from your macbook (it comes out blank or in strange characters) apart from test pages, its most likely because the driver the macbook has chosen is wrong.

Try changing the driver of the printer for the macbook, for printing via an ipad or iphone your printer will need to support airprint or have a manufacturer released app on the appstore
