Wireless Problem

My friend's laptop won't conect to wireless network. Other computers seem to connect to the wireless network but hers dosen't. Before, it wouldn't find any wieless links, she took our her wireless card and put it back in and now it finds the wireless link but when she tries to connect, it just says "acquiring network address" forever and dosen't connect. She can only really connect using wired connection.

Her laptop or your network could be stopping incoming connections, it could be because either your network or your friends laptop is behind a firewall and restricted.

Allow incoming connections from both sides from behind the firewalls.

If it isn't the firewall, you may need to properly setup her laptop for your wireless network.

I was having similar problems. I bit the bullet and called Geek Squad. The guy came out and in 1.5 hours had everything connected and running perfectly. I can print from my laptop, share files between my desktop and laptop and have confidence I am getting my money's worth out of my new laptop. My wireless network is right on. This is not an advertisment for Geek Squad but they sure got me up and running.
