Wireless probs

I got my wireless all hooked up and the signal strength is 5 bars but my msn/aol keeps signing in and out like im losing connections......and idea whats wrong?

I have a cable modem and a wireless router. I have an ethernet cord connecting the modem to the router......

yes, but is your "network card" a USB one or is it built into your computer with an antenna sticking out the back?

It's built in, but there is no antenna

It's wierd because I was picking up someone elses from across the street just fine. Only 2 bars, but it worked ok. No signing in and out of messengers.....

Hmm. I don't trust them. That might be the source of your problem. Have you updated the firmware yet, just in case?

make sure you flash the firmware with a wired connection. If any problems occur during the firmware flash you can brick your router.

Never try to flash a router over wireless.

It says that when I try to check for a new version......wtf?

Obviously the internet is working. I'm on a wired connection right now.

Ok I restarted the router from http://192.168.2.1 and it fixed the problem.....
