hi there
Not a computer expert by any means. Just curious I rent and have wireless as part of my lease. My question is how easy is it for people to see my computer or at the very least my surfacing history?
thanks

Hi

As far as im aware its impossible for the person who owns the network to access your browsing history. If your connected via LAN, its a different story, but if just wireless, it's not do-able.

It depends on their setup. Yes, it is easy to view what various IPs have accessed and what not if they have some type of server/router that supports that kind of logging. If you have your own account to log in, it's that much easier to pin-point who's been viewing what.

However, if it's just a basic setup, say a cable modem and a linksys router, there's not much you can do to see who goes where.

Stop viewing porn and searching illegal stuff and you have nothing to worry about!
we were all thinking that.:D

..what encryption are you using for your wireless? there is ways to find your browsing history, the easist would be your cookies. ie also stores your browsing history, unless you tell it not to keep the history. If someone has physical access to your pc or even remotely they can install a "key logger" .Everything you type is logged to file that can be retreived.
