Yeah, you should be able to use any brand of usb wifi adapter as long as it's 802.11b or 802.11g. If you're going to buy one buy a wireless G adapter, i'm not sure if b equipment is even still for sale.
You don't have to use the same brand adapter as the wireless router. Its the technology that has to be comaptible. Wireless G works with wireless G. You can use a belkin router with a netgear adapter if you wanted to.
