Wireless Router HELP?

So, I bought and iPod touch and wanted to connect to my wireless connection at home. (already have a laptop and Playstation 3 connected and working very well)
Being the genious I am.. I forgot the password for my secured network so I couldn't connect..:(

While "playing around" on the laptop trying to find somewhere that the password may be typed in all ready (but shown as ******* thinking if i saw the number of "*" I might rememer the password.
The Laptop has Vista Basic.

I went from Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Centre > and there was my connection.
From there I clicked "View Status" > Wireless Properties > Security..
In the "security" window there was a space for "Network Security key"...
I click this and it goes blank.. (there was a ******* password already there)
AND AFTER THAT THE LAPTOP COULDN'T CONNECT TO THE WIRELESS CONNECTION.

Sorry for this long post though hahaha.
My main question is: HOW CAN I START MY WIRELESS ROUTER OFF FRESH AGAIN.. meaning.. how can I create a new wireless network and delete the current one (to which I don't know the password)

*I have a 2701HG-G Gateway router and my ISP is Bell Sympatico DSL

Thanks for any help you can provide.

EDIT: WHAT THE ****, DOES NO ONE ACTUALLY USE THIS GOD DAMN PIECE OF SHIT FORUM!!1@2!!1@1!!

Hey man be nice.... its a saturday night (sunday morning now) most people have a life and are busy with friends and family so have some patience... if you forgot the wep key just log into your router and you can get the key....

If i am not wrong the 2wires use the 10 digit number inside [ ] brackets as the wep key so try that... u'll find that number under the router... if you changed any of the default settings then you'll have to reset the router by holding the button with a paperclip for 15 seconds on those models i think... just google it
