Wireless Router won't connect to the internet.

hi im pretty newb with all this but im trying to install a wireless router but it wont connect to the internet. I've followed all the instructions however it just won't connect to the net. btw it's a Netgear WGR614v9 and i'm running vista. thanks for the help, cheers

Did your PC or laptop detect the router and connect with it.
Try reset the default settings on it.

Most routers come with a setup cd, did you use it? Do you have cable or DSL internet. Sometimes your provider requires you to clone the mac address of the modem or sometimes you have to put your modem in bridged mode if you are using DSL. You may have to contact your internet provider for specific settings or call netgear for help as sometimes they will help you connect.
