Wireless set-up

What are the ranges on wireless keyboard and mouse sets? I want one that will work from at least across the room (20-30 ft) but also just which sets did you find were the best most reliable for the money? Just looking for advice on what to buy.

Thanks

what set are you planning on using? it often says on the product description, the range varies depending on the product and if there are obstacles etc

get bluetooth. Bluetooth is much better for keyboards etc. however they are still pricy and not too easy to come by

The range for bluetooth is about 30 feet max. There's no real standard for generic RF devices, but it's probably less. I'd think as long as the receiver was pretty much out in the open you'd be ok with either, but blue tooth may be the way to go...

Go Research The Logitech Cordless Desktop S510 Media Desktop

It only say's 16 feet on the Box...

But i can literally be 60+ Meters away with my Media Remote and still control it.

It can also go through our ply wall...

I know my Logitech mouse will work pretty far from my receiver. I've also taken it into other rooms and done stuff. I don't know it's rating, but I bet it could hit 30 feet if the receiver is positioned well.

ok well maybe 30 feet was a little optimistic, but you guys think the logitech makes reliable wireless set-ups? how about the microsoft ones does anyone have experience with those? what else should I look for anything that is important?

For me, Logitech and Microsoft are the best two choices in that order for wireless, I wouldn't really look at anything else...

i think 30 feet is too far for wireless, you may need a secondary AP to boost the signal.

Nope not exactly, I have a couple of businesses in my area that use wireless and I installed them at secretary's request. They can stand across in the inventory shelves and use it. Maybe 50 ft.....
