Ok i have win xp MCE 2005 And a netgear wirless router.Well i have my xbox 360 as the only item wireless so i wanted to know is there a way to see the signal comming out of my router.

Netgear 108mbps WGT624v3.
 
What exactly do you mean by "seeing the signal coming out of the router"? If by chance you mean see whos accessing the wireless, your router should have a client list which shows the IP and name of anything connected to your router.
 
i also seem to be having problems like this

Ive put XP back onto this computer after a quick playabout with Vista

After installing the router to this computer, the downstairs computer seems to connect for about 20 seconds before briefly disconnecting and reconnecting. This wouldnt be bad, but it stops me downloading programs on the downstairs computer.

Any ideas?
