I have a router upstairs in my house. It is a 802.11g trendnet. It picks up very bad signal downstairs. But, I can not move the router because it is wired through my room computer. Suggestions for better range?
Is the adapter also 802.11g? The only things I can suggest for increasing the range would be to get a better adapter (assuming you're using a USB/integrated WiFi card), or upgrade both to 802.11n.
That is not a bad idea. The problem is that my trendnet router makes access points, But they are all discontinued. So, A bigger Antenna is only 5 or 6 bucks. I may try that.
