Wireless woes

Hi all,

Im posting this for a friend as he is having internet problems at the moment.

He has a 2wire wireless modem and connects to it with a 2wire wireless lan device (usb). It was all working fine till someone unplugged the computer which the modem was connected to. Now he gets a full strength signal, but cant browse the net or log into any chat programs.

If anyone can think of something that maybe causing this please help.

Did it unplug the router as well? If so, it might have reset the router/modem and therefore it would be sending out a signal but wouldn't be allowing any traffic through it. See if you can get back into the settings and set it up again.

As a side note, USB wireless adapters are notoriously bad, if he can afford a PCI card or PCMCIA card, he'll get much better results out of that as well... Just some friendly, unsolicited advice
