WMP 11 problem

Help! I've got windows vista ultimate and installed klite mega codec, the problem is my wmp 11 cant play audio format anymore! Everytime i tried to play let say mp3 music, the music is running but theres no sound.
If i play video format like .avi, .mkv, .mp4 it works well with plug in from klite codec.
If i use other application let say itunes the music works fine.
What happen to my wmp 11?
 
That Vista is sh*t, mate.
I suggest you get XP Professional or do a dual boot.
Btw, my signature shows the Vista problem on a right way :-)
Gates made it LOOK good, not good.
Get XP, do a dual boot, or wait for Microsoft to improve Vista.
 
I think the codec already support vista because its work.
My problem is because wmp cant play mp3 music anymore but other application like itunes works.
Its wierd since the wmp itself can play video codec .avi, .mkv, .mp4 with the help from klite that i installed without problem but with consequence it cant play .mp3 anymore?
 
Do a search online and download/install Vista Codec Pack. When you install, right-click on the installation file and click "Run as Administrator". Make sure you reboot even if it doesn't ask you to after installation.
 
Argh i just found the problem.
Yesterday i accidentaly tweak the sound property, normaly my soundcard can play up to 24 bit 96 khz sample rate, i tried to lower the setting to 24 bit 48 khz and the wmp back to normal! Whew is that a bug?

My creative control device still set to 24 bit 96 khz and windows sound property set to 24 bit 48 khz, hmm which one of this option that would make effect to the sound quality the windows or the creative one?
 
Did you install Audigy Vista drivers + OpenAL? Creative cards do not like sharing IRQ at all and they seem to cause quite an IRQ headache in Vista machines while the same cards in the same machines work perfectly fine in XP.
 
Yeah i install creative driver for vista but open al? What is that? And where do i download it?

Man this is quite complicated, i had this problem more than once and just know now that this is irq problem, can u give me more advice on this?
You were right about xp, i dont have any problem with sound card back then.

Well the problem is my wmp 11 can't play mp3 format anymore once i installed klite mega codec, other function & format and video are ok.
Now i've manage to solve the problem by lowering the sample rate (96khz to 48khz) in sound property, but still want to find a way to use the previous setting.
Oh one more thing, even i lower the sample rate in sound property my creative device control still use the default option (96khz 24bit) which is the highest sound quality. Is that wierd, the windows sound property and creative device control use different sample rate, i wonder which one of this option used by vista when playing media file?
Someone just advice me to install open al but haven't tried it yet.
 
Control Panel>Sound, click on the speaker icon that has a green check over it, then click on "Configure" on the bottom right, click the last tab on top and see if there is an option that says "Allow Application take exclusive control". If you have that and it's checked, then Creative's software is in control over it and not Windows.

Yeah i cross that option a lot but never though of it, so if i just set the windows sound property to 48khz 24bit (just to allow wmp to play mp3) and the creative audio console to 96khz 24bit, which means i still get the highest sound quality despite the windows sample rate is lower right?
If my statement is true then my question is answered already.
