Won't boot after oveclock? o.O

After I set all the settings in BIOS like in the picture, the system won't boot, but if my
  • FSB is 300 MHz
  • RAM divider is 133 MHz
  • CPU multiplier is 8X
it boots, whats the difference, I lowered the HTT multiplier btw.

400 Mhz is too high for your FSB, most motherboards max out at 300 Mhz or so.

You think? HTT multiplier is set to 2X so that would be 800 MHz HTT, I dunno, maybe that's the problem, never thought about it.

Shouldnt the Clock be on summin like 200mhz and the multplyer be on summin like 10 ? 400mhz is desired data speed at ddr but really it runs at 200mhz ??

Maybe you should try summin like 10x240 with a memory divider @ 133mhz to get 2.4 ghz ?

lol, I'm confused.

I was OC'ing my CPU and it doesn't boot when HTT is set to 400 MHz (200 MHz default), I lowered the muliplier to 6X (9X default) and set a memory divider to 133 MHz (266), net core speed should be 2.4 GHz.

My question is, was 34erd right, or are there any other opinions?

EDIT:

Highest I can go with multiplier is 9X.

btw, that memory divider is too low, 166 MHz (333) should be fine (the one you've posted)

gotta go, Im in school

Ummm try 9x267 to get 2403mhz with the divider @ 133mhz so the memory will be @ 400mhz (ddr 200mhz)??

sounds good to me.

Remember, your main goal is to get a higher CPU clock, not a high FSB.

34erd is right. I don't think I've seen a board that can do 400. I remember some board (ATi based?) that could push 350.

lol, I knew that.

That's what I wanted to hear. :)

Anyways, it won't boot on 266*9 with a divider at 133 MHz, seems I'll just have to stick with 300*8, divider at 133 MHz, the only working combination for 2.4 GHz.

300mhz with an 8x multiplier will be 2.4ghz.
no bootage means you need to lower frequency, raise voltage, or there's too much heat. probably one of the first two though, since its not in full load before startup.

You didn't read the whole thread, did you?
