won't boot up

I was using my HP laptop with out the power cord plugged in and ran the battery down. The laptop shut down so I plugged in the power cord and tried to boot it up but nothing happens. I won't boot up. Can someone tell me what to do to boot it up? Thank you....

You might just have to wait until the battery is somewhat charged. Is the charging light on?

The light by the power cord inlet is white..

Remove the battery and only have it plugged in, will it boot up?

I removed the battery, unplugged the power core, waited a couple of minutes and plugged it back in and it booted up. I will put the battery back in and charge it up. when the battery is charging is the light supposed to be white or orange? Thank you.....

I would think white. Orange usually means battery is almost dead.
