won't load windows

I have an Acer Aspire 3002LCI with Windows XP home. When I turn it on it starts to boot normal, but when it gets to the windows screen, it clicks and restarts. I tried safe mode with the same result. Is this fatal of can it be fixed? Thanks for any advice.
 
boot from your xp cd and go to install windows and hit r to repair. If that option is not availble then at the first load up screen use recovery console and try type "chkdsk /r" If that doesnt work then type "chkdsk"
