Wont Open Folders

When I open folders on my desktop then they open, but when I go to My Computer it refuses to open control panel, floppy drive, anle CD Drive and no error pops up, it does nothing. When I go to run and type disk drive in there it opens but all the images wont open when I double click on them in the disk drive.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Could you possibly be a little more specific about the problem. I understand that windows won't open folders but understanding the rest of the question is a bit difficult.
 
What about Explorer?

Maybe you have got a virus on your computer. Or you should simply re-install your system. I think it would help you. Try to use Total Commander (or Windows commander).

Try to use an old DOS-based program e. g. Borland Turbo Pascal, Borland C++ for DOS, or simply MS-DOS 6.22 (boot from floppy).
You should try DOS mode (if you have Win95/98). If you can access the drives and directories you want, simply re-install your Windows.

If you run the setup program under Windows, you won't loose your games, programmes you have installed.

Im running Windows 2000.
Ill explain my problem better:
I am trying to access folders, when clicking on folders such as My Documents they open, I then tried to access Control Panel, CD Drive and FDD but they would not open. I was able to highlisht them by clicking on them but they would not open. I then went to Start --> Run, and typed the drive and it opened, such as CD Drive, but when ipening files on that disk they would NOT open.
I have an anti-virus and a firewall installed and they are up to date.
