word 2007 stealing risk

You mean download a free trial and find it's crack?
That's very common. Only a few people are actually ready to buy Microsoft Office.
OpenOffice has almost everything Microsoft Office does and it's free.

But there are a lot of people who buy Microsoft Office. But there are more people who crack the serial key protection, so the risk is pretty high.

The risk is soon after it connects to the net there will be a knock on your door and you will never be seen again:eek:

How exactly did he get caught?
My friends always use the cracked version. Because they hate paying for Windows applications, but to get the serial crack, they use a proxy.
I did not mean this post to breach any rules of this forum, forgive me if it does.

Lol, but if we are using a valid unlocking serial, then how are they getting caught?
Anyways, the office gets unlocked, I've noticed people getting caught because of using cracked Windows versions. But not heard of these incidents.
Call me ignorant :(

If someone buys a MS office package, it has one serial number. If it is registered 5,000 times with that cd-key.... It is easy to see.

um... thats an interesting discussion. i know that sometimes windows when is updates asked me to make a check on my authenticity but i am not sure i actually tests the programs. i have OOo writer but i am not THAT happy with it. its the same like my old word 2000 for which i have a license.
i am just wondering, seems like everyone does it, just like filesharing but its hard to say what the risks are.
if you really know some that got caught tell us how!
thanks for all the answers!

This thread is really close on breaking the forum rules, so I'm hoping you are not going to ask how to get Office illegally. Microsoft isn't interested in a single person who is pirating a software program, they are interested in corporations who use the same software on multiple PC's without the proper number of licenses, or people who are sharing several Microsoft applications.

why, that would be dumb to ask wouldnt it be? it was not at all in my question since i do know people like to talk about things they think are soooo bad.
but as you said, and that might be what i believe, they are not even interested in private persons activities. just wanted to have a chat about it since its always good to know!
