I might consider getting the GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P. ($30-40 extra)

First of all, I want this computer to last. Can't I get an ATI card or whatever fits into my budget CURRENTLY, and then in like 2 or 3 years while still being to play the new/pretty new games at like medium quality or whatever for the next few years, and then buy another 4670 and crossfire which will then last me another year or so?

Will that Corsair 750W be good enough for crossfire? Can you crossfire in an Antec 300 case?

-----------------------
And someone please answer the question of whether the Phenom II's support DDR2 memory or not, cuz' if it doesn't 4GB's of DDR3 costs at least $100.
------------------------
What about the AMD Phenom X4 9850 (for $200)

The Phenom II 920 is $270 and the Phenom II 810 is $233. Out of my budget.

I sort of want a quad-core, to future-proof myself. I won't be doing HEAVY gaming, just some games here and there. Just want a computer that can play current games, and I can update if needed. (crossfire)

PSU is plenty for crossfire(Its actually capable of running twin 9800gtx's or so, the psu is overkill, would normally recommend a 650watt corsair for a rig such as this but that psu is on sale for cheaper than the corsair 650watt, more bang for the buck is always better;)), the phenom II's support DDR2 and DDR3 motherboards(Can run them on chipsets as old as the 680's even, gotta love amd for backward compatibility;)). The Phenom X4 are not as good as the Phenom II's, as before stated in this thread the Phenom II 710/720(tri cores) bench higher than the quadcore phenom I's. And about the antec three hundred, plenty of room to crossfire;)

Going to go with the crossfire mobo: GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P

Stick with the PSU.

Still undecided on what ATI card to get.

Leaning towards the Phenom II X3 710 for $168.38.
According to the benchmark site it's better than the 9500, and slightly worse than the 9950. But the 9950 is $200, so I'll go with either the 710 or 720 IF the price goes down.
--------------------

Without the video card, I'm currently at...

831.96 (without rebates)
766.96 (with rebates)

Maybe you should take a look and see what kinda prices they offer at newegg, the prices are a good bit better. I would lean towards something like a 4830 for a rig in your budget;) Also, i would think about overclocking the phenom II's, on stock cooling u can prolly get at least 3.2Ghz on em, more if you add aftermarket cooler;)

Thanks.

I know a few guys @ NCIX, so I can get a discount. Newegg's shipping sucks.

I'll have a look @ 4830

Ah, ill have to bet you had a bad experience with neweggs shipping then, here in the states ive never had a problem with em tho(and i've ordered prolly close to $10k off newegg, and yes quite a bit of it was for friends builds etc, cuz im not rich lolz.) And the only shipping i hate is the egg saver that they use on ram and such when they offer ram with free shipping, cuz that takes like 2 weeks o_0

Problem with newegg shipping here is that ALTHOUGH they have a .ca site, shipping PRICES kill because they are ridiculous.

Thanks bomberbysk for hanging around, you guys are great =D

Ah, best thing to do with that is to order only the things that have free shipping from newegg then eh? Then the rest from ncix;)

The 4830 is $140.88, I'll think I'll go with it.

Puts me at :

$970 (without rebates)
$906 (with rebates)

Where can I save some money? Get it back to $800

Don't forget I'm going to be crossfiring in the future and getting another 4830. I think I can maybe get a cheaper case (looks don't matter, as long as it fits all the stuff and has enough fans and there is enough room for crossfire) and the PSU (though I'm afraid anything less won't be enough power for crossfire in the future)

Anyone want to check if that DVD Drive will work? I don't know anything about DVD Drives or anything, just base it on reviews ..

What's the difference between the cheaper one vs the most expensive one?
It supports crossfire and Phenom II processors right?

Yes and Yes, its just a lower model chipset... it will do everything you need it to do, in fact almost any 6xx or 7xx chipset will be futureproof supporting future processors, i have a friend with a 680g microatx board that they bought 2 years ago or so with a 5000+(before phenom was even released), and it supports every one of the new cpu's.

The 780G is not a crossfire chip. Even though it has 2 X16 slots, the second one is only a X4 slot and shares PCIe lanes with the PCIe X1 slots. Its only a Hybird C/F board.
