Working Free Blu-Ray Software?

Hi folks, I recently purchased a new laptop, with a Blu-Ray drive installed in it. I got a Blu-Ray movie and put it in the drive and it couldn't play it. Searched the net, found out that apparently Microsoft is a little to lazy to try and get the extra encryption technology and codecs and etc to have a default player installed. So I resorted to downloading the first thing I saw, which is Total Media Theater, but it's only a trial, and I'll be blunt about my attitude. I payed an extra $100 something, just so I could have the Blu-Ray playing capability, and you're telling me I need to download third-party software to play the disks, and whats more is to pay for that third-party software? Hell no. I refuse to pay for something like that, so I was wanting to see if anyone on here has any viable solutions as to a player that will work with the Blu-Ray format, that isn't a trial and that I do not have to pay for? Any help at all is much appreciated. Thanks.
