World of Warcraft vs PC

yeh dude, ok I didn't read all the reply's, but that is sad if it doesn't max out... maybe your computer hates you?
But yes, a 280GTX, is that what you said? That solves all problems.

The 'fps lock' you are talking about is what I mentioned earlier, called Vsync - all it does it synchronise your framerate with the refresh rate of your monitor to make it as smooth as possible.

Yeah, I do think WoW is more demanding than people think at higher settings. Your 8800GT is a fairly powerful card, but that is a high resolution you are playing with, and I don't think the WoW engine really handles lots of players on screen at once that well.

I'm sure a newer graphics card would solve your problem, but to be honest, 30fps minimum is definitely playable. Hell, I've got friends who play the game on 5 year old laptops - 9fps max.

That is what i'm beginning to think as well. I'm just not giving WoW enough credit at higher resolutions. Hmm... still disappointed though.

you pry hit 30 in dala and 60 everywhere else. look guy the human eye can only pick up so many fps. a 280 would pry help but why piss your money away? the 8800 is a very substantial card.

why are you so worried about 30-60 fps? Every game runs super smooth at 30fps, so I really don't see the problem.
