Hi

whats the world record for overclocking ive been researching on the web but not sure as i hear some have hit 8Ghz and some have hit 7 Ghz and they are saying that one of those is the record.

also anyone a got any personal milestones from cpu's they have overclocked

My record is 4.0GHz... I'm pretty sure the record is 7GHz, but for some reason Maximum PC or CPU Mag said something like 10GHz... which I'm 99% sure isn't true or I'm not reading it correctly.

My personal is only 3.38 so far... sadly. The stock settings were 2.60Ghz, so I got quite far. I've just hit a stability problem and had to back off to 3.38 as soon as I get it fixed, I'm definitely going to try again.

yeah that is crazy any one know why a celeron is that good for oc? wouldnt have thought it would have been a different CPU.

my record is 3ghz on my old E4500. for some reason i can't overclock my pentium E6300. i set the new freequencies, hit f10 and bam, it boots with original settings.

guys, i just got my Pentium Dual Core E6300 to 4.06ghz!!!! at 1.4vcore, i will do prime95, i probably need more vcore, though 1.4v is meant to be the limit for 45nm, i have good cooling.

nice :P

i just found out intel are releasing a new pentium G6950 with igp didnt know that, cant believe there still carrying on the pentium brand

eeek. bluescreens, i'm staying at 3.8ghz. i guess i'll let prime95 go overnight on 3.8ghz.

Hell, a 1ghz overclock is awesome.

Is this some kind of sick joke? Because if it isn't, then that's pretty friggin awesome. You know what would be funny, though, is if a Core i7 975 was more powerful :D

P.S. Wouldn't that also be a world record?

No, thats not a joke. The cedar mill p4's hit some pretty insane clocks under ln2, sad part is a current generation cpu at 3.8Ghz is pretty much as powerful singlecore, not to mention multiple cores. And yes, that screencap is the current world record for pentium 4's(or any intel cpu for that matter).
