I've heard about those things... woo for Linux and boo for McAffee, what more can I say? 
I'm not actually surprized to see something like this since I log into the mail server online first before even opening up Windows Mail or OE when booted in XP in order to clear out anything but mail coming from those on the "safe list" of senders! No junk mail please! let alone any unwanted bugs.
Typically you will run into gift certificates and bonus offers seen often enough in any spam mail for retail chains. The "smart shopper" however knows enough to use the delete option.
