Eh, there was a lot of things promised in vista that never came through. Like getting rid of registries, a secure kernel, etc.

I guess, but if you don't listen to all the hype and just use the OS, it's pretty decent.

They also promised a new file system (WinFS I believe), as well as the ability to install apps/drivers without needing to reboot the computer.

Wow...Vista could really be hated with a new file system. More things wouldn't work.

I think with the Vista hatred, ppl are too lazy to get off the nest and change some hardware... Maybe it's just me though, Vista 'came' to me easy enough.

Eh, not everyone has the dough or experience to change hardware.

if they can't manage to somehow upgrade or simply refuse to do so, then its not the software's fault that it runs slow.
its the fault of the person trying to use the software and thus they have no right to bash it.
its like somebody crying "oh my god, crysis and xp SUCK horribly, so do 8800s. i have a 100MHz P1 with 32mb of ram and none of them work on my pc"

for years, and still today, lots of people know how to look at game specs, and when they can't get the game working they know how to compare the specs to see what was wrong. how come so many people suddenly forgot how to look at specs when vista came around and instead choose to blindly bash it?

I enjoy Vista, its nice if you have an adequate system. I don't do too much advanced stuff so almost everything I try works - in fact I've only had one or two compatibility issues so far, my scanner and an old game.

Their right about crysis, it should have stayed on the island rather then that alien crap
I migh start from begginging again if i'm bothered, big let down. And now the problems with the patch, i cannot get onto any punkbuster servers even after I have updated pb
