Worth $50?

It's pretty vague but the ad said:

CPU, heatsink, fan, 2.4g, 800fsb, 512mb. $50.

I'm trying to get my parents a computer because they're getting ripped with one of those finance scams where you pay like $40 a week, but I'm not exactly a guru at computer building, but I get by.

Let's say it has a motherboard, 2.4g P4 or AMD, heatsink, fan, 800mhz fsb, 512mb DDR. I've got a harddrive and monitor, and I can pick up a cd-rom as well as a case, keyboard and mouse; what else would I need just for barebones to have this work? And is this ad worth it?

thats really not possible unless they are getting the parts in some illegal way. the processor along shuld cost around 50 dollars probably more.

If all it is is a CPU, RAM, and HS/F then they could be old (s478 PC1600) and/or damaged.

If they say it has an 800Fsb then it's a P4. For 50$ I would ask to see them in action first before they sell it to you (go look at the stuff and bring a monitor, Gfx card, keyboard/mouse [hopefully it has a mobo] and just do a quick boot with the parts and see if they work) because they may be trying to sell borked parts.

No, there is a place advertising on TV that will give you a PC on credit...no questions asked about credit history...just pay $35/WEEK for a year.
No Kidding!
