Would anyone like to know how to install Windows XP on 45mb ram

Hey

This is how you install windows XP on a machine with less than 64mb of ram

All you need is ...

1.Blank Cd
2.4 GB HDD Space {Enough to copy XP Disc to your comp and then burn it }
3.Nlite (http://www.nliteos.com/download.html)
4.CD burner
5.A System with less than 64mb of ram

this is how you do it ....

Put your windows XP Cd rom in to DVD drive or CD rom and Create a Folder on your Desktop are were ever and name it windows XP and copy all the Files from your XP Disc to this Folder Called Windows XP on your Hard Drive

and then Go and Download Nlite From the link Above and once downloaded and install it and open it and then do this you find your folder called windows xp and select it and if you look at the picture the same thing should happen as the picture

pic14sh.jpg

and then click next and select the options you need and then it will recreate windows XP and then it will ask you to make an ISO File click make ISO When its finished ... and then burn the ISO file with Nero or your burning software ...

Bare in mind that this can be done on any speed machine

...if you would like to know more email me on [email protected] and name the subject XP Ram

I don't think that you will be able to operate the WinXP with less than 128MB of RAM. You might be able to install it normally by tricking the min requirements, but what about the real operation, it will be a nightmare of course, if it really started for the second time :D No Offense, I am just saying my opinion.

I personally was working with Win98 on a P-V-133 Mghz on a 64 MB RAM and it was ok, so what do you think guys about XP over less than 64 MB RAM??

Nice guide, although, I would never have a PC in my house with lower than 64 MB RAM :P

My sister has a PC which is running XP on 64 MB RAM and it is, in a word, absolutely and totally really really rubbishly sluggishly crap!

Who would want to run windows xp with 64 Meg of memory anyway? And if so, what would you do on it?

I am running XP on my laptop as well. PII 266mhz and 80mb of RAM. It does run quite fast if I say so myself. Actually I am quite surprised that it is running as well as it is. But still I am planning on upgrading it to 128mb as soon as I can. I do word processing, gaming (older games like Tiberian sun and the sims and heroes of might and magic III), and internet browsing. In fact, Im posting this from it.

Less than 64 no, but with 64, 96 or 128 yes, it runs fine as long as you use it for something suitable.

yes installing might be possible but u can't run XP on such small memory. I strongly recommend u to not to practice this.

Interesting experiment, but what does Task Manager say about Commit Charge?

My guess is such a PC doesn't have AV s/w installed? "On Access" scanning will really slow the machine to a crawl, won't it?
And your hard disk speed is important, yes ?

Still, as memory is so cheap, it's a fun thing to do but not for the masses, right :D
