I was having a think and thought it could be cool to have an sli PC, i was wondering if i would benefit from it.

I mostly play some games (COD 2 Unreal tournament 2004 and bF2)
I can run UT 2004 on the highest settings possible with no problems and COD 2 on normal/ medium settings perfectly. I will also do some video editing and watch dvd's / tv.
Would i benefit in spending another £100 to get another 7600GT and an sli mothebroard or would i not see a big increase in performanc - or do i not need it?

Spec's are in sig.

Personally I think that its unnessary as the games run perfectly fine at the moment. But then again, if I had the money I would probably do that cos it would be so much nicer when i played the games. and you would be able to play just about any game.
And seeing as you had that sli power, you wouldnt have to get a new graphics card to keep up to date with the graphical needs of new games for a lot longer.

I'm not sure if that made complete sense, but anyway

It is definitely worth it to sli mid range cards. If you can afford it, then sli ing two 7600GTs is the way to go. I don't however believe that its economical to sli two high range card like two 8800GTXs.

hehe well im definitely considering buying another XFX8800GTX around august to run SLI. as soon as my bro builds his computer im goin to borrow his card and run 3d Mark06 with 8800gtx SLI :D

You would be better off selling your current 7600GT and buy a 7900GS/GT then to buy another 7600GT. In some games the SLI'd cards will be better, but also in some games you only see a minimal improvement.

Why pay double the price, when you don't get double the performance? SLI has so many bugs to be solved, it is sometimes considered pitiful. SLI also has problems with compatibility. I don't recommend it, go get an 8800.

I agree, I would get a 7900gs/gt. I have 7600gts in SLI, but just beacause I had the cards layin around. In some games they do match a 7900 but in others they dont and sometimes no improvement at all. But if you cant sell your card and can get a 7600gt dirt cheap, Why Not!
