I probably did overkill in the notebook I purchased for what I use it for but I'd appreciate your opinions. More so on the issue if you're better off getting a laptop with a top of the line Dual Core Processer then a lower end Core 2 Duo?
In my case I use my notebook as a second computer in my house for my bedroom, don't take it out of there, am connected by wireless Cable Broadband & basically just surf the internet, download & watch torrent/mp3 files, burn DVDs/CD's & word process. Basic stuff. I don't game or do graphics work. Fast internet speed is very important too me as well as to be able to do all of the above functions, at once, if its applicable.
Performance seems to be very good.
My Toshiba Satellite A105-S4334 (XP O/S) 160 GB HD, 2 gb ram, 1.6 GHZ, is a 1.60 Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5200 which as I said is the bottom end. Would I have been better off with a more top end Dual Core instead & if so would I actually notice a difference?
