Would it be foolish?

Should I run the E6850, which has a 1333FSB, with DDR2 RAM? Or should I wait for DDR3? Which would yield the best performance? Since E6850 is an overclocking beast, I plan on really making it speedy.

Does this sound appropriate, no bottlenecks?

Core 2 Duo E6850(July 22)
Asus P5K3 Deluxe
Kingston HyperX DDR3
Dual 8800GTX's or single 8900, maybe after a price drop the 8800 Ultra.

I am postponing my build again and glad of it. What do you guys think?

Thanks

i could be wrong but i really don't see DDR3 ram being all that much better than DDR2. Sure there will be a performance gain but it will be slight and im sure unnoticeable in day to day computing. Thats just my thoughts then again who really knows.

If you wait until DDR3 comes out, then there will be more technologies coming out soon. It's pointless to keep waiting, as there will always be new things coming out. I always say, theres no point in waiting to buy something just because something new is coming out, unless that new thing is being released within a week or so.

And I doubt DDR3 would make much of a difference, since DDR > DDR2 didnt do zilch when it first came out.

Very true, I like your philosophy.
