While surfing the web and listening to music at the same time when ever i open a new page and it loads or i scroll down my music skips/lags... would getting another stick of 512 fix that?

umm i think it has to do more with the CPU...becuase i dont think it takes memory to just scroll up and down and watnot.

The RAM would help and a processor upgrade would help but the RAM is the bigger cause here I think. I suggest you get DDR-400 also.

Well thats easy to check
1. Disable virtual memory
2. Do stuff like you normall do and every so often check your task manager ti see how much memory you have free :)

thanx i mean is it the memory that effects it or is it the fact that i have SEMPRON aghh i hate semprons
Unless you planning on getting a dualcore box, there's nothing different day-to-day between Athlon64 and Sempron (in 32bit environment of course)

By the same token it doesnt take mass processing power to scroll a list

actually, scrolling has a LOT to do with the ram. well, a lot, in relative terms. more ram will do the trick.

Yes indeed however that only is the case if the system is actually running out of physical memory (which is why i suggested to disable paging to eliminate that possibility)
