The audio is stereo, 44.1Khz, I usually set it at 224kbits/second
Google for a program called TMPGEnc and it will convert the AVI in to a VCD compliant MPEG file.
You can then use Nero to burn the MPEG file to a VCD.
VCD is one of the choices of the types of disk nero burns. Nero will do the conversion itself but I don't trust it. It's done burning before you know it's done it right. I like to have an MPEG I can see before I burn it.
Some avi,s need re-encoding before you can burn as a vcd this can be a lenghty process but there are numerous programs that can do it for you , Tmpeg , Main concept to name but a fewjames76 said:Thank you very much i will look into this. Anymore ideas or tips would be great thanks!
Once you have a VCD compliant Mpeg file just use Nero and choose VCD as your option instead of DataCd or Audio CD.Then from mpg to vcd what is best to use?
My biggest problem wasn't really that it would screw up burning, but that it would have trouble encoding the AVI into an mpeg and burn the screwed up mpeg on to a VCD. And then when I go to play it it looks all funky. So I do my encoding before I use nero. Then I can watch the mpeg and see if it came out ok.I used to have a lot of problems with Nero too. Figured out if you keep the burn speen within standard burning speeds (12x or under), then it is super stable. To hit the faster speeds requires a strong buffer and a good CAV burner and good quality media.
