I am looking to upgrade my video card from an 8800GTS 640MB. I'm torn between ATI and NVIDIA because if I get an NVIDIA card I can continue to use the 8800 for Physx processing in the system due to their cuda tech.

I'm looking at these cards right now:

$309 with MIR $279 Sapphire 4850 X2 2GB

$239 with MIR $229 HIS 4870 1GB

$247 EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 w/ Free Far Cry 2

So I'm not really sure which one to get.... I'm running an E6600 C2D with 4GB of DDR2 800 on Vista 64 Ultimate. I game at 1900x1080 on a 37" HD LCD and I'm running a 650W PSU. I play COD4, COD5, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress 2, CoH, and Sins of a Solar Empire.

Couple of questions:

What resolution do you play at? Do you like/want Far Cry 2? What kind of PSU do you have?

All of these are important to consider when choosing. ;) I wish everyone would fill out their sig with specs.

I just built a system with a [email protected] and 700W PSU I went with the 4870 runs great on a 22" monitor at max settings. We run left4dead, WOW, warhammer, CS and other less graphic intense games. I'm not a big gammer so I'm not familiar with superman or COD.... But I can tell you that the 4870 runs great and unless you have a big monitor you wouldn't need 1gb. I think all the cards your looking at are high quality.
